Chapter 10 in the book of Sirach, the Scriptures says," A wise ruler will educate his people and his government will be orderly. All officials and all citizens will be like their ruler. An uneducated king will ruin his people, but a government will go strong if its rulers are wise. The Lord sees to the government of the world and brings the right person to power at the right time. The success of that person is in the Lord's hands. The Lord is the source of the honor given to any official."
So far, I didn't see this happening in the Philippines.
When we were still in Thailand for more than a decade, oftentimes we've heard and seen in the news how rampant graft and corruptions are in the Philippines. And in just few months stay in the Philippines for my new job assignment in this country, the pork barrel issues had surfaced. Now, it's more or less a year since then that we have seen some results -three senators: Revilla, Estrada and Enrile, so far had been put in jail, which lots of people are in doubts about it. For them, this would be temporary only.
Temporary means that when the Aquino administration is done, and another party leader holding the reign, these senators and others soon to be put in jail, will easily get away from it and freely walk out from the prison.
Do you think God had already sent the right person, or is it the right time to put a certain person to power?
Our coming Presidential election in 2016 is another hope for all of us to fulfill God's plan in the our country. Hope that time, all of us will be united to elect the right and God-fearing person and right and God-fearing government officials who will truly and lovingly serve the Filipino people unconditionally with all their hearts, minds, strengths and energy.
May God bless us all!

Taxation in the Philippines
As we have seen today, no matter how huge the tax our government had collected each year, and how wide is its coverage, still poverty is widespread in the country.
A lot of the Filipino people were wondering why in spite of the richness our country has, people are still struggling. In my opinion, greed is behind everything. I am not so sure if you have thought about it, because I had just thought about it recently.
In the Old Testament, the Scriptures says, God had asked only 10% of what He is giving us. And in the New Testament, the scriptures says that God loves a cheerful giver and it is not the amount that matters, but it is what you heart is joyfully and willingly want to give back to God.
However, BIR in the Philippines is collecting taxes way too high for an ordinary and average employee. If this grave mistakes won't be corrected, then ordinary Filipino people will continue to struggle in life.
So, if we do things NOT in God's way, but in our own and greedy way, then surely, poverty will not go away from our country.

4. Power
5. Water
6. People
7. Business
8. Religion
9. Crimes
10. Graft and corruptions
11. Taxation
More list would be followed immediately and briefly and randomly discussed as soon as the said initial list were already dealt with.
The purpose of this blog is to present how the author see the Philippines today and what would it become if nothing would be done differently, and to gather comments from people who shared the same sentiments for the country.
It has been said that, "it's insanity when we expect something different while doing the same thing." So, if we want great and significance change in our country, then we need to do the things differently, but in God's way.
Please, kindly share your comments on my second post briefly talking about taxation in the Philippines. It will talk about why, in spite of how huge the tax that were collected by the government and how wide its coverage is, still poverty are still widespread in the country.
